Coping Strategies Event 9th March

IMG_9696IMG_9701At the end of our mid-week school day all pupils and staff were encouraged to divert through the Atrium on their way home, to a ‘Coping Strategies’ event, with Easter prizes on offer for all attendees.  More than 100 pupils and 25 staff took up the opportunity and were met with an array of material to pick up and take home on subjects around physical, mental and emotional health.  Strategies for study skills were up for grabs, mindfulness techniques shared, hand massage offered and scores of support leaflets were available for a diverse range of issues such as panic attacks, anxiety, looking at positive and negative coping strategies, sleep and nutrition suggestions and reading lists offered.  All this was offered with calming music and colourful visuals.  All the material offered is part of the School’s resources and already used in different ways but this was a first for us to bring it all under one roof and have all ages attending outside school hours, thanks to willing staff.  It was a very positive experience and one we would like to repeat next year! IMG_9706 IMG_9702IMG_9711
