New School Delay Information

New Boroughmuir High School

We have been advised by our contractor, OHMG, that due to the adverse weather conditions over the last few months the construction work on the new school building will finish five weeks later than they had anticipated and will now not be completed until 28 October 2016.  Unfortunately this means we will not be able to move into the new building after the October break as had been planned and, as it is our intention to move over a school holiday period to minimise disruption to pupils, this means the opening of the new school will now be at the start of the new school term in January 2017.

Although this delay is obviously disappointing, there will be opportunities between construction work finishing on site and our move date that will allow us to set up familiarisation visits for pupils and staff in the run up to the opening.   As you may have seen for yourself the new building is now very much starting to take shape and I am confident that our new school will provide a fantastic teaching and learning environment and the wait will be worthwhile.

iainFormer Boroughmuir High School Pupil, Iain Innes (2010 to 2015), has been selected to represent Team GB at the Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer which start tomorrow. Team GB’s allocation is one male and one female under 18 skier so Iain is delighted and honoured to be selected.
