Expressive Arts

FACULTY OF EXPRESSIVE ARTS

The Expressive Arts faculty offers young people valuable opportunities to develop their skills in music, drama, and media. Through performance, composition, and digital creation, they build confidence, strengthen their skills, and collaborate on meaningful projects. Whether participating in concerts, theatre productions, or practical media work, all these subjects encourage creativity, critical thinking, and personal development, providing young people with valuable skills and experiences they can apply in real-world settings beyond the classroom.

Drama develops creating, presenting, and evaluating skills through practical experiences. Students work with various stimuli, develop teamwork and characterisation abilities, and build confidence through performance. Assessment uses end-of-unit evaluations, teacher observation, and naturally occurring evidence collection.

Music combines practical keyboard/ukulele/percussion work with composition, writing, and listening across vocal, orchestral, film, Scottish, and world music styles. Students complete personal presentations on musical topics of interest, with naturally occurring assessment throughout and evidence collection in class notebooks.
