FACULTY OF HEALTH & WELLBEING

Our faculty has high aspirations for all with a focus on skill development unique to our context and subject areas.

Health, Food and Textile Technologies encompasses a broad range of curriculum outcomes that explore the relationship between food, health and nutrition. Food as a context of learning gives perspective to an everchanging landscape of contemporary food issues, including ethical and sustainable considerations. Our experiential teaching of practical cookery and textile technologies offer opportunities for creativity, skill development and pathways into progressive and dynamic qualifications.

Religious, Moral, and Philosophical Studies (RMPS) explores world religions, ethical dilemmas, and philosophical questions. It encourages critical thinking, moral reasoning, and understanding diverse beliefs, shaping informed and reflective individuals.

Health, Food and Textile Technology focuses on sustainable food practices and practical skills. S1 covers kitchen safety, healthy eating, and basic sewing. S2 explores contemporary food issues, develops advanced cookery skills through Junior Chef competition, and examines world foods and nutrition. Assessment includes practical evaluations, online forms, and challenge tasks.

Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies covers belief introduction, world religions, festivals, creation myths, morality, and animal rights in S1. S2 explores big questions, inspiring purpose, human rights, and life after death. Students complete ‘RMPS Superstar Challenge’ with varied assessments including investigations, presentations, and creative tasks.
