We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all and we work actively towards eliminating all forms of bullying, prejudice and discrimination. We challenge inequality and promote inclusive, nurturing environments. The ‘I just want to say’ QR code is present in all classrooms, pupils can use this to report incidents of bullying and discrimination.
Our school values every pupil’s right to think freely, follow their own beliefs, and express them respectfully. Pupils are encouraged to explore diverse ideas and cultures, show understanding toward others, and develop their own identity in a safe and supportive community.
Our school is committed to supporting every child’s growth and well‑being. Through PSE (Personal, Social Education), whole‑school assemblies (for example Bonfire night safety), Health and Wellbeing for S3/4, and CPR training, we help pupils develop essential skills, values, and resilience to thrive in life.
Every child has the right to be protected from harm. Our school promotes kindness, respect, and safety, ensuring pupils feel secure and supported. We run the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) programme, where S6 mentors are trained to deliver sessions to S1 pupils. In addition, the MVP’s provide a chill‑out room at break and lunch for anyone who needs a safe and supportive space.
We are committed to inclusion and equality. Pupils with disabilities are supported to participate fully in school life, with access to the resources and encouragement they need to succeed. This year we recognised International Day of Persons with Disabilities with assemblies, a school wide competition and a ‘accessorise purple’ day.
Pupils are free to form and join groups, clubs, and activities. We encourage teamwork, friendship, and shared interests that strengthen our school community. A wide range of extra-curricular opportunities are available including Sports, Eco Committee, Minecraft Club, Pop Choir, Model UN, Philosophy club and many more.
Every child has the right to basic needs. Our school promotes healthy eating and works with families to ensure pupils have a safe and stable environment. Through the Pupil Equity Fund, we support access to free school meals, provide help with uniform costs, and run a breakfast club, ensuring all pupils feel included, confident, and ready to learn.
