Welcome to our thriving school community here in the heart of Edinburgh’s Fountainbridge area. As Head Teacher, I am delighted to introduce you to Boroughmuir High School—a place where every young person is valued, challenged, and supported to reach their full potential.
For over a century, our school has been at the forefront of educational excellence, continuing that proud tradition in our stunning, purpose-built facility that opened in 2018.
At Boroughmuir, we are guided by three fundamental values that shape everything we do: Respect, Inclusion, and Resilience. These values, developed collaboratively with our entire school community, ensure that every decision we make puts our young people first. We believe that education should be enriching and equitable, empowering all learners regardless of their background or starting point.
Our vibrant community of pupils comes primarily from our learning community schools —Buckstone, South Morningside, Cannan Lane and Bruntsfield.
What makes us particularly proud is our commitment to providing a truly balanced curriculum that prepares young people for success in all aspects of life. From S1 to S3, our broad general education foundation leads seamlessly into personalised pathways through National qualifications, Highers, and Advanced Highers. We enhance these opportunities through partnerships with neighbouring schools and Edinburgh College, ensuring our pupils have access to the widest possible range of learning experiences.
