Boroughmuir Former Pupils’ Association

All Boroughmuir FPs are “products” of an excellent school which has maintained that reputation over the generations to this day; a moniker to be proud of – former pupil of Boroughmuir. The main benefit of joining us in the Association is therefore becoming part of a community which celebrates its past, enjoys a range of social gatherings and actively supports the school.

Examples of ways in which we can provide support include providing practical career guidance to senior pupils through our Careers Breakfast, networking opportunities in specific professions and potential work experience placements.

In more details the benefits of joining the Association include:

  1. Opportunity to attend unique events like; our Burns Supper, the school Awards Ceremony, the school Remembrance Service, fundraising events in conjunction with the Parent Council and the magical school Christmas Concert.
  2. Acting as a table Host at the annual Careers Breakfast,
  3. Prearranged Year Group Reunion tours of the new school building.
  4. Keeping FPs informed about school events and achievements as the only officially former pupil approved channel..
  5. Our BFPA website is a rich source of historical information and class and staff photos by decade which is very useful for rekindling school memories. The BFPA can facilitate access to a plethora of historic school archives including school registers, school magazines through both World Wars all held by the City Archive Dept which is very useful in tracing family history.
  6. All members receive our annual magazine called Old School Ties recording FP events over the year.
  7. We now also produce an online quarterly Alumni Newsletter full of interesting articles and topical events.
  8. Enabling a platform for FP Year Group communications from all over the world through our website and social media sites.
  9. Outlet for legacies, donations from FPs, their families and friends.

…. and all of this for the princely sum of just £15 p.a. (current annual fee).

Those who have a close family collection with the school are also very welcome to join us as Associate Members for the same annual fee.
